About MuslimPrayTime.uk

MuslimPrayTime.uk provides daily prayer times for 65 cities and towns in England, Scotland and Wales. By default, timetables use the Muslim World League (MWL) method with Hanafi Asr; on any city page you can switch to the Moonsighting Committee, Karachi or ISNA method and Shafi'i Asr. Your local mosque may publish slightly different Jamaat times — always check its noticeboard.

Times are adjusted for British Summer Time (BST) and for the persistent twilight phenomenon affecting Isha and Fajr times during UK summers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Prayer times are determined by the position of the sun. By default we use the Muslim World League (MWL) method with Fajr at 18° and Isha at 17° below the horizon, and Hanafi Asr (shadow = 2× object height). You can switch to the Moonsighting Committee, Karachi or ISNA method and Shafi'i Asr on any city page.

Prayer times depend on geographic coordinates. Cities further north (like Glasgow or Edinburgh) experience greater variation in daylight hours, especially in summer, compared to southern cities like London or Bristol.

During UK summers, the sun doesn't dip far enough below the horizon for true astronomical darkness. This means Isha time can't be determined by normal methods. UK scholars recommend following the nearest day method or fixed portion of the night.

Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around 8 February 2027 and last 29–30 days, subject to moon sighting. Suhoor ends at Fajr and Iftar is at Maghrib — see your city page for today's times.
