About Manchester Central Mosque
Manchester Central Mosque and Islamic Cultural Centre — also called Victoria Park Mosque or Jamiat-ul-Muslimeen — stands in Victoria Park, about two miles south of the city centre between Rusholme and Longsight, close to the Curry Mile.
Its story began in 1948, when Muslims meeting at Manchester University bought a semi-detached house at 22 Upper Park Road for £2,250. In 1968 the community decided to build a new mosque; a neighbouring house was donated in 1970, and in 1971 work started on the purpose-built mosque. It has been extended several times since.
Jumu'ah (Friday prayer)
The mosque does not publish a fixed Jumu'ah time online that we could confirm — please check with the mosque directly. This Friday, 6 November, Dhuhr begins at 11:52 am at this location.
